Thank you for visiting Distinctive Hair Coverings! 

I am a Torah observant wife and mother who covers her hair.  I have gone through the trials and tribulations of trying to find coverings that fit my style and that are comfortable and easy to wear and won't "break the bank".  I've "been there, done that"!  Although I'm no style guru, I would rather wear something special and unique that is not a carbon copy of  something that a thousand other women are wearing. 

That being said, I decided to put my sewing skills to good use.  I bought some fabrics that I loved, went home, began sewing, and haven't looked back since.  I was so happy with my new creations!  I found that I enjoyed the creative process so much, that I could never possibly wear all the coverings that I was feeling the urge to make!  I rationalized that other women would probably appreciate these lovely coverings just as much as I did.  Thus, Distinctive Hair Coverings was born.  I began selling my coverings on ebay and etsy and the response from buyers was phenomenal!  My rationalization was confirmed...

It is my desire to provide both beautiful AND affordable hair coverings to women who may be new to the practice and are trying to "find their style" and also to those who are seasoned coverers who enjoy having a varied wardrobe.

I would like to ask for your patience and understanding as I attempt to build my inventory.  Although I am commited to filling my site with plenty of items from which you may choose, I am first, and foremost, a wife and helper to my husband.  I am also a full-time homemaker and home-schooling mother of 6 children (so far...!).  Needless to say, I keep very busy!!!
